Reflection:
The voicethread software is a unique teaching tool that can certainly be implemented in the classroom setting. This program would be best used the upper elementary classrooms or middle school classrooms. Students would need a great deal of guidance while figuring out the voicethread software, but I think it is something that they would enjoy making. Their final creation is something they can take great pride in and easily show it to their peers and parents. Using a voicethread is a great alternative to PowerPoint and Prezi. It is much more personal than simply a slideshow because it incorporates the student’s voice, their personal artwork, and their knowledge on the subject matter. I really enjoyed making the voicethread with the help of my lovely assistant, Andrew (aka Matter), and we shared many laughs as we listened to our recorded country accents. The software was relatively easy to use after tinkering with it a little bit. If I teach upper elementary students or middle school students, the voicethread software is definitely something that I will implement in my classroom! After completing this assignment, I feel like I have taken one step closer to becoming a more tech-savvy 21st century educator!
